Billikens Win Series with 9-4 Win

Saint Louis captured the weekend series two games to one with a 9-4 win over visiting St. Bonaventure today. The win moves SLU to 17-5 overall and 2-1 in Atlantic 10 games. Sophomore Jackson Wark earned the win, rising to 4-1 this season. Senior Devin Mahoney hit his first home run of the season in the contest.

Billikens Fall in 12 Innings

Saint Louis fell in extra innings to St. Bonaventure, 6-5. The Billikens rallied from a 5-1 deficit to tie the game in the ninth, but the Bonnies escaped with a 12-inning win. Sean Frontzak takes the loss as the Billikens fall to 16-5 overall and 1-1 in Atlantic 10 play.

Billikens Top Bonnies 4-2

Saint Louis baseball rose to 16-4 overall with a 4-2 victory against St. Bonaventure in the Billikens' Atlantic 10 Conference opener. Sophomore Miller Hogan (4-0) earned the win, throwing seven innings with one earned run. Ryan Lefner picked up his sixth save of the season.

The 2017 Billikens boast one of the top offenses in the NCAA, ranked in the top-50 nationally in walks (23rd), doubles (19th), on-base percentage (27th) and slugging percentage (39th). Nick Reeser leads the Billikens with a .367 batting average, one of six Billiken starters hitting over .300. James Morisano has a team-leading .636 slugging percentage. Aaron Case holds the team lead in on-base percentage at .484. On the mound, the Billikens are led by sophomore Miller Hogan, who has a 3-0 record with a 1.16 ERA, 27 strikeouts and 11 walks in 31.0 IP.

Billiken Baseball to Host Labor Day Camp

Saint Louis baseball will host a high school baseball tournament on September 1-4 at the Billiken Sports Center. The tournament will be limited to the first 10 teams with each team being guaranteed four games. Billiken coaches and student-athletes will conduct technical instruction for all participants during the Friday session.

Billikens Top Butler 4-2

Saint Louis defeated Butler on Sunday 4-2 to push its overall record to 15-4 this season. Jackson Wark got the win as a starting pitcher to rise to 3-1 this year. Ryan Lefner picked up the save, his fifth of the season.

Saint Louis hit five doubles and Carter Hanford hit a home run in a 6-5 defeat at Butler. Trent Leimkuehler hit two doubles in the game and now has 10 doubles this season. The loss drops SLU to 14-4.

Baseball Suffers Setback at Butler

A four-run eighth inning from Butler handed Saint Louis baseball its third loss of the season. Starting pitcher Miller Hogan threw seven innings allowing two runs on four hits with one walk and six strikeouts. At the plate, Parker Sniatynski was 2-for-3 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI. The loss drops SLU to 14-3 overall this season.

Nick Reeser leads the Billikens with a .367 batting average, one of six Billiken starters hitting over .300. Alex King is the SLU leader in slugging percentage at .673 (third in A-10). Aaron Case holds the team lead in on-base percentage at .494 (third in A-10). On the mound, the Billikens are led by sophomore Miller Hogan, who has a 3-0 record with a 0.75 ERA, 21 strikeouts and 10 walks in 24.0 IP.

King Corrals Two Doubles in Win Over WIU

Saint Louis withstood a late rally from Western Illinois to top the Leathernecks 7-6 at the Billiken Sports Center. The Billikens led most of the game, but WIU tied it with a four-run sixth inning. SLU responded with runs in the seventh and eighth to capture the victory. Aaron Patton (3-0) earns the win for SLU and Ryan Lefner gathered his fourth save of the year. Saint Louis is now 14-2 overall this season.

Aaron Case leads the team with a .368 batting average, .507 on-base percentage and a .684 slugging percentage. On the mound, the Billikens turn to Jackson Wark who has a 2-1 record with a 5.79 ERA, 15 strikeouts and 13 walks.
