Former Northwest Missouri State volleyball student-athlete Alicia Watson was named assistant sports performance coach in June 2015.
Watson came to SLU from Lindenwood University, where she served as a graduate assistant in the strength and conditioning area. Prior to her appointment at Lindenwood, Watson served as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Nebraska for the spring 2013 semester.
During her time at Lindenwood, Watson received an NCAA Graduate Student Research Grant Award for a project titled, “Determining the Daily Caloric Needs of Female Athletes.”
A four-year libero/defensive specialist with the volleyball team at Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo., Watson totaled 334 career digs.
Watson graduated form Northwest Missouri State in December 2012 with a B.S. in Corporate Recreation and Wellness and earned a M.S. in Human Performance from Lindenwood in May 2015.
