LOS ANGELES - For the first time since the
1993-94 season, the Saint Louis Billikens have garnered a national ranking as
they come in at No. 23 in the AP Top 25 poll, which was released Monday. SLU is
No. 25 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll.
Also on
Monday, the Atlantic 10 Conference announced that senior forward Brian Conklin was named A-10 co-Player
of the Week.
The
Billikens' ranking comes on the heels of claiming the 76 Classic championship
in Anaheim. SLU topped Boston College, Villanova and Oklahoma en route to the
title. The Bills also have a win against Washington to boost their resume.
Conklin
claimed tournament MVP honors at the 76 Classic after averaging a team-best
17.3 ppg in the three-day tourney. He tied his career high with 25 points in
the championship game against Oklahoma.
The
Billikens remain in Southern California for a matchup against Loyola Marymount
on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Game time is scheduled for 9 p.m. (CT).
