Billikens Ranked 23rd, Conklin A-10 co-Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES - For the first time since the 1993-94 season, the Saint Louis Billikens have garnered a national ranking as they come in at No. 23 in the AP Top 25 poll, which was released Monday. SLU is No. 25 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll.

Also on Monday, the Atlantic 10 Conference announced that senior forward Brian Conklin was named A-10 co-Player of the Week.

The Billikens' ranking comes on the heels of claiming the 76 Classic championship in Anaheim. SLU topped Boston College, Villanova and Oklahoma en route to the title. The Bills also have a win against Washington to boost their resume.

Conklin claimed tournament MVP honors at the 76 Classic after averaging a team-best 17.3 ppg in the three-day tourney. He tied his career high with 25 points in the championship game against Oklahoma.

The Billikens remain in Southern California for a matchup against Loyola Marymount on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Game time is scheduled for 9 p.m. (CT).
