BRONX,
N.Y. - A
four-run fifth inning lifted Fordham to a 4-0 Atlantic 10 Conference victory
over Saint Louis Saturday afternoon at Bahoshy Field.
The win boosted Fordham to
27-17 overall and 11-1 in the A-10. Saint Louis fell to 17-23, 4-6.
Laura
Bohning
doubled for the Billikens, while Rachel
Faletto and Kelsey Biggs
collected a single apiece.
Billiken hurler Julian Austin (3-7) limited Fordham to
two hits through four innings, but the Rams broke through with four runs and
four hits in the fifth. Jamie LaBovick had a two-run single, and Paige Ortiz
made it 4-0 with a two-run home run.
Saint Louis put its leadoff
batter on base four times, but only one Billiken got as far as third base.
Fordham ace Jen Mineau (21-9) struck out 10, walked one and hit a batter.
The
Billikens play a doubleheader at La Salle Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. (CT).
