ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis sophomore defender Raymond Lee (Kansas City, Mo.) has been
named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week. In addition, the
Billikens have entered the national rankings, coming in at No. 22 by Soccer
America and No. 25 by College Soccer News.
Lee scored
twice in the Billikens' 3-1 victory against No. 7 (NSCAA) Creighton last
Saturday in Omaha. His first goal came in the 39th minute on a corner kick
started by Alex Sweetin. Lee's
second goal, the eventual game winner, was scored in the 49th minute off an
assist from Robbie Kristo.
It was the
second win of the season against a ranked opponent for the Bills, who knocked
off Louisville earlier this season when the Cardinals were ranked 18th. In
addition to being ranked by College Soccer News, SLU is ranked No. 41 in
TopDrawerSoccer.com's Tournament 48 rankings, which attempts to project the
48-team field for the NCAA Tournament. The NSCAA and Soccer Times coaches' polls will be released either later Monday or
Tuesday.
SLU returns
to action Saturday, Sept. 29, when Central Arkansas comes to town for
Homecoming at 7:30 p.m. The traditional fireworks display will take place at
halftime.
Prior to
the match, America SCORES will participate in a nationwide attempt to break the
Guiness World Record for number of people dribbling a soccer ball. For more
