NEWPORT NEWS, VA.
- Freshman middle blocker Megan Gilbert
was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team, as announced today by the
conference office.
Gilbert was one of the top hitters for the Billikens in her first
collegiate season. She played in every set and started all but one match.
Gilbert was second on the squad in hitting percentage (.223) and blocks (63,
0.59 per set). She was also third in kills with 236 (2.23 per set).
Gilbert is the first Billiken to be named to an All-Rookie
team under head coach Kent Miller.
The Billikens will wrap up the 2012 campaign against Kansas
in Lawrence, Kan., on Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m.
