ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis men's basketball
interim head coach Jim Crews announced
today that Mike Crawford (Tipton,
Ind./Tipton) signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University and
play for the Billikens. Crawford begins his four years of eligibility during
the 2013-14 season.
"Mike will be a great addition to Saint Louis University
because of his excellence on the court and in the classroom," Crews said. "Not
only is he one of the top students in his class, but he also was a member of
the junior class Indiana All-Star Team.
"His ability to make shots and handle the ball, as well
as his understanding of the game, makes him a very good fit for our program,"
Crews added. "We are very excited to have him join the Billiken community."
The 6-foot-5 Crawford is in his senior season at Tipton
High School. He has helped the Blue Devils to a 68-11 record in three previous years,
including a 25-4 mark last season. As a junior, Crawford averaged more than
20.0 ppg, pulled down more than 6.0 rpg and was the team's top 3-point shooter.
He became the 12th player in school history to reach 1,000 points in a career,
achieving the feat in the 13th game of his junior year.
