ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis University head women's
soccer coach Katie Shields served as an assistant coach for the U.S.
Under-18 Women's National Team that recently conducted its first training camp
of the year.
Shields,
her coaching colleagues and U.S. Soccer Women's Technical Director April
Heinrichs welcomed 24 players to the camp, which was held Feb. 2-9 at the Home
Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The U18 roster includes five players who were members of
the USA's 2012 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup Team in Azerbaijan.
The
U.S. U18 WNT training camp was held concurrently with the U.S. U20 WNT training
camp. The two squads scrimmaged each other, and the U18 team also scrimmaged UC
Irvine.
