LOUIS - Sophomore Morgan
Peterson and senior Taylor Streid
were named to the 2012-13 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving All-Academic team,
the conference office announced today. It is the first such accolade for Peterson
and the second for Streid.
At the A-10 Championships, Peterson placed seventh in the
200-yard medley relay, third in the 200-yard IM, third in the 100-yard butterfly,
fourth in the 400-yard medley relay, third in the 200-yard breaststroke and
seventh in the 400-yard freestyle relay. She won bronze medals in three
separate events at the A-10 meet and was the top scorer for SLU. In one season
at Saint Louis, Peterson already owns five school records.
Streid
wrapped up an incredible career in 2013. At the A-10 meet, she was seventh in
the 200-yard medley relay, fourth in the 200-yard IM, ninth in the 100-yard
butterfly, fourth in the 400-yard medley relay and seventh in the 400-yard freestyle
relay. She continued to set records, breaking four this season. She holds the
record in nine different events at SLU.
The All-Academic team is comprised of student-athletes who were selected
based on their performance in the pool, as well as in the classroom. To be
nominated, swimmers must have a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale) for their
entire academic career.
