ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head men’s basketball coach Jim Crews announced today that 6-foot-8 forward Tanner Lancona (Trabuco Canyon, Calif./Tesoro) will attend the University and play for the Billikens. Lancona begins his four years of eligibility in the 2013-14 academic year.

“We are thrilled to add another skilled big man to our roster,” Crews said. “Tanner is a stretch-four who can shoot from the outside. He can also handle the ball. Tanner fits in well with our team, both personality-wise and athletically.”

Lancona averaged 17.6 ppg during his senior campaign at Tesoro High School, leading the Titans to a 21-win season and an appearance in the Southern California Regional Division II playoffs. As a junior, he averaged 14.2 ppg. Lancona was an All-League second-team pick as a sophomore.

Lancona joins 6-foot-8 forward Reggie Agbeko (Buffalo, NY/South Kent School) and 6-foot-5 guard/forward Mike Crawford (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) as new members of next year’s squad.

The current NLI signing period runs through May 15, 2013.
