ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis track and field is sending three standouts to the 2013 NCAA Division I Track and Field West Preliminary Round, scheduled for May 23-25 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas.

Junior Margo Richardson will compete for the second year in a row in both the 1,500 and 5,000 meters. 

Making their NCAA Preliminary debuts are Kita Alvares in the 400-meter hurdles and Jessica Hoefert in the 10,000 meters.

The top 48 competitors from each region (West and East) are selected for the preliminary round. In order to advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, June 5-9, a competitor must finish in the top 12 during the preliminary round.

Thursday, May 23

4:30 p.m. - Kita Alvares, 400-meter hurdles (first round)

5:30 p.m. - Margo Richardson, 1,500 meters (first round)

9 p.m. - Jessica Hoefert, 10,000 meters (semifinal)

Friday, May 24

7:30 p.m. - Kita Alvares, 400-meter hurdles (if advance, quarterfinal)

Saturday, May 25

6:30 p.m. - Margo Richardson, 1,500 meters (if advance, quarterfinal)

8:05 p.m. - Margo Richardson, 5,000 meters (semifinal)
