ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University put four student-athletes on the Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-Conference team, the league announced today.
Michael Scolarici earned a spot on the men's team, while Jessica Hoefert, Hannah Kuenzel and Allison Walter were recognized on the women's squad.
Scolarici completes the Academic All-Conference hat trick, having been named to the Academic All-Conference teams for cross country, indoor track and field and now outdoor track and field. The Public Health major topped the Billikens' performance list this year in the 1,500 and 5,000 meters. He played ninth in the 5,000 meters at the A-10 Outdoor Championships.
Hoefert, a Biology major, earned second-team All-Conference honors in the 10,000 meters after placing second at the A-10 meet. She also finished seventh in the 5,000 meters at the A-10s.
Kuenzel, the A-10 champion in the shot put, also turned in top 10 finishes in the hammer throw and discus at the league meet. She majors in Biology.
Walter is a Theological Studies major who hold SLU's 400-meter record. She finished fifth at the A-10 meet in the 400 meters and just missed qualifying for the NCAA Prelims.
