Saint Louis (2-0) extended its home winning streak to 14 games with a 3-0 victory over Memphis (0-3) Friday night in front of 1,344 fans at Hermann Stadium.
The Billikens scored all three of their goals in the second half. Filip Pavisic scored in the 51st minute off a corner kick started by David Graydon. Vince Cicciarelli scored a pair of insurance markers to bring his team-leading goal count to three. Sascha Otte made three saves for his second-consecutive shutout.
Pavisic’s goal was the second of his career – both have been game-winners ... the assist was Graydon’s 21st of his career, which is tied for second (to teammate Faik Hajderovic) among all active NCAA Division I players … SLU’s unbeaten streak at Hermann Stadium now stands at 20 games and the winning streak moves to 14 games … SLU has not lost at Hermann Stadium since the 2012 season and is the only program in the NCAA that has not lost on its home turf the last three seasons.
The Billikens travel to Akron to face Zips on Friday, Sept. 11. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT). It is the first of two road games for Saint Louis, which travels to Louisville the following Tuesday for a showdown with the Cardinals.
