HOW IT HAPPENED
-- The Cougars had a 50-37 edge on the glass.
-- BYU was 23-of-27 from the line, while the Billikens were 7-of-17.
-- The Billikens fell behind 11-0 at the start but clawed their way back.
-- BYU led 18-8 with 12:40 left in the first half before going on a 7-0 run to get within three of the lead.
-- BYU again went up by 10 with four minutes remaining in the half, and the resilient Billikens again clawed their way back and pulled within four on a 3-pointer by senior guard Mike Crawford.
-- A 3-pointer by freshman forward Jalen Johnson late in the half made it a seven-point game in favor of the Cougars at halftime.
-- Despite going up by 15 in the second half, the Cougars weren’t able to put away the Billikens. SLU went on a 10-0 run, punctuated by a Bishop 3-pointer, to make it 59-54 BYU with 12:12 remaining.
-- But with the Billikens in foul trouble, BYU proved too much for Saint Louis as it utilized runs of 19-1 and 22-4 to take command and post the victory.
-- Bishop’s 27 points came on 11-of-23 shooting from the field and 4-of-9 from long range.
-- Reggie Agbeko, the Billikens’ leading rebounder, had 10 boards.
-- Crawford and freshman Zeke Moore had nine points apiece.
-- Kyle Davis and Eric Mika had 22 and 20 points, respectively.
-- The Billikens face either Alabama or Valparaiso Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m. (CT) in the consolation game of the Men Who Speak Up Main Event.
