THE BASICS
Despite a game-high 27 points by Saint Louis sophomore guard Jermaine Bishop, Saint Louis fell 92-62 to Brigham Young Monday night in the Men Who Speak Up Main Event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Saint Louis (2-2) plays again in Las Vegas on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. (CT) against the loser of Valparaiso and Alabama. BYU (4-0) advances to the title game of the tournament.

Bishop’s 27 points were a career high.

The Billikens were down by just five points with 10 minutes remaining in the game, but BYU out-scored the Bills 31-6 down the stretch to post the 30-point win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-- The Billikens fell behind 11-0 at the start but clawed their way back.

-- BYU led 18-8 with 12:40 left in the first half before going on a 7-0 run to get within three of the lead.

-- BYU again went up by 10 with four minutes remaining in the half, and the resilient Billikens again clawed their way back and pulled within four on a 3-pointer by senior guard Mike Crawford.

-- A 3-pointer by freshman forward Jalen Johnson late in the half made it a seven-point game in favor of the Cougars at halftime.
