Jackie Kemph scored a game- and season-high 27 points, but top-seeded Dayton posted a 75-65 victory over fourth-seeded Saint Louis in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship semifinals Saturday at Richmond Coliseum.
•The Billikens slipped to 24-8, while Dayton improved to 21-9.
•Saint Louis will await the March 13 announcement of the 64-team WNIT field.
HOW IT HAPPENED•As they did in Friday's quarterfinal win over Fordham, the Billikens sizzled from 3-point range at the outset. SLU connected on 5-of-6 from beyond the arc in the first quarter and led 21-12 after the opening 10 minutes.
•Saint Louis increased the margin to 11 points on its initial second-quarter possession, but Dayton outscored the Bills 25-10 the rest of the period to take a 37-33 halftime edge.
•Dayton gradually pulled away in the third quarter and led by 16 before Kemph's three-point play in the closing seconds made it 62-49.
•
Jordyn Frantz buried a pair of 3-pointers early in the fourth quarter to keep SLU in contention. Later, a trey by
Jenny Vliet sparked a 9-1 run that narrowed the Dayton lead to 70-65 with 3:45 remaining.
•Dayton did not record a field goal over the final 7:44 of the game, but the Billikens would draw no closer than five.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES•Kemph, whose 27 points were just one shy of her career high, was 10-of-18 from the field overall and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. She added a game-high six assists to bring her season total to 239, tying the SLU single-season record she set last year.
•Kemph moved into seventh place on the Saint Louis career scoring list (1,356 points).
•Vliet was 3-of-4 from 3-point range and finished with 13 points. She added three assists, two blocks and two steals.
•Frantz tallied three treys and registered 10 points.

Olivia Jakubicek for team-high honors with six rebounds.
