Now in her fourth year on the Saint Louis women's basketball staff, Olivia Applewhite was elevated to assistant coach in May 2019. Applewhite previously served two seasons as director of operations/video coordinator and one season as a graduate assistant.
Applewhite is no stranger to the Atlantic 10 Conference, having played four years at Dayton (2009-13). The Flyers posted records of 97-30 overall and 46-10 in the A-10 and made four NCAA Championship appearances during her career.
Dayton captured the A-10 tournament title in Applewhite’s junior season and went 14-0 in league play in her senior year. As a senior, she served as team captain, registered career-high averages of 7.5 points and 6.4 rebounds (second on the team), and was selected A-10 Sixth Woman of the Year. Applewhite played in 121 games for Dayton, ranking 14th in program history.
Applewhite played three seasons of professional basketball overseas following her collegiate career. She led CAB Correze Basket Club (France) in scoring and rebounding in her first season before joining the Waterford Wildcats, a member of Ireland’s Premier League (top league). During her one season with Waterford, Applewhite led the country in rebounding and finished eighth in scoring. She concluded her playing career with SISU, which competes at Denmark’s highest level, and posted the league’s top scoring and rebounding averages.
Applewhite earned a master's degree in student personnel administration at SLU in 2018. She is a 2013 graduate of Dayton with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in marketing.
