• Olivia Petit and Lauren Tondl scored second-half goals within two minutes of each other, and Lindsay Sands added a late insurance marker as Saint Louis defeated Saint Joseph’s 3-0 Sunday afternoon in an Atlantic 10 Conference match at Hermann Stadium.

The shutout was the Billikens’ second in succession and ninth of the season. Mary Niehaus earned her league-leading seventh solo clean sheet.

The victory stretched Saint Louis’ Hermann Stadium unbeaten streak to 16 games. It also was the Billikens’ 25th win since the beginning of last season (25-5-3).

SLU improved to 11-1-1 overall and 3-1 in the A-10. Saint Joseph’s fell to 6-4-2, 1-2-1.

The win kept the Billikens tied with George Washington and Duquesne for second place in the A-10. La Salle leads the conference at 4-0.

• Olivia Petit’s goal was her fifth of the season, giving her sole possession of second place on the team. It was her second game-winner.

• Evie Lavelle posted her fifth assist of the year, also good for second on the team.

• Lauren Tondl registered the first goal of her Billiken career and became the 12th different Billiken to score a goal this season.

• Lindsay Sands picked up her second goal of the 2017 campaign.

• Mary Niehaus, who made four saves, chalked up her 16th career shutout.

SLU out-shot Saint Joseph’s 20-12 and took 12 corner kicks to the Hawks’ four.

Ten different Billikens recorded at least one shot. Olivia Petit fired a game- and career-high five total shots, while Lindsay Sands led all players with a career-high-tying three shots on goal.
