THE BASICS
-- Saint Louis scored with 10 seconds remaining in regulation and picked up a crucial Atlantic 10 Conference victory Saturday night, a 3-2 win over George Mason.

-- The Billikens improve to 4-6-1 overall and 2-2 in the A-10. George Mason dips to 5-5-2 overall and 0-3-1 in league play.

-- Leo Novaes recorded the game-winning goal at the 89:50 on a wild play. George Mason attempted to clear the ball out of their own end, but Novaes pressured and jumped up to block the kick. The ball deflected toward goal and over the head of the Mason goalkeeper and into the bottom right corner for the dramatic game-winner.

-- The wild last-second goal was part of a thrilling second half, as all five goals were scored in the second stanza.

-- SLU twice had one-goal advantages before seeing Mason add an equalizer. Patrick Sarr opened the scoring with his first-career goal in the 57th minute.

-- After Mason equalized five minutes later, Matteo Kidd put the Billikens back on top with his first-career tally, scoring in the 68th minute off an assist by Sarr.

-- However, Mason equalized once more in the 74th minute, and the game appeared destined for overtime until Novaes’ heads-up play sent the Billikens home winners.
