OXFORD, Miss. – Saint Louis freshman Jake Johnson broke the school record in the long jump this weekend at the Joe Walker Invite at Ole Miss, highlighting numerous strong performances by the Billikens.
Johnson's mark of 21-11.75 broke the previous record of 21-10.75, set last year by Johnathan Parker. Johnson placed sixth in the event.
Other notable performances included Katherine Kelly's third-place finish in the 800 meters (2:18.21). Ann Harlos finished second in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:01.46. Allyson Stanley tied for third in the high jump, registering a mark of 5-1.25. Amanda Baker was the fourth-place finisher in the Heptathlon, punctuated by a first-place showing in the 800 meters. She ended up with 4,238 points.
Tannock Blair placed fifth in the 800 meters with a PR of 1:51.59. Ethan Erusha finished third in the triple jump, while Alex Oleson was fourth in the high jump (6-4.75).
Next weekend, the majority of Billikens compete at the Tom Botts Invitational at Mizzou. Additionally, several distance runners will head to California.
