SAINT LOUIS - [BOX SCORE] Saint Louis University Baseball looked to be in the driver’s seat before Davidson crashed the party in the seventh. The Wildcats plated nine runs in the top of the seventh inning and went on to a 9-5 win over the Billikens on Saturday.

Saint Louis (29-17, 14-3 A-10) posted the first run of the game in the bottom of the second. Nick Reeser singled to lead-off the inning and advanced to third on the next at-bat. Cole Dubet doubled to put runners at second and third with just one out as Kyle Fletcher stepped to the plate. The senior hit an RBI single to left field, which scored Reeser, and made it 1-0.

The Billikens extended the lead thanks to an RBI from Dubet. Carter Hanford doubled to left field before the Saint Louis second baseman plated the second run with a ground out to short.

Saint Louis was in full control until a nine-run seventh from Davidson sealed the Billikens’ fate. The Wildcats recorded seven hits in the inning, capped-off with a grand slam from Justin Lebek to grab a 9-2 lead.

Saint Louis made some noise in the ninth with a pair of runs thanks to an Aaron Case single to score Dubet and Hanford, but that was as close as the home team got.

Jackson Wark got the start and received a no-decision after his six-inning outing. Five Billikens (Fletcher, Dubet, Carter Hanford, Alex King and Jake Garella) posted a two-hit day. Garella’s second hit plated the third run for the team in blue in the eighth.

The series will wrap-up on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. CDT as Drew Reveno will take the mound.
