ST. LOUIS -- Saint Louis freshman right fielder Sadie Wise has been selected to the Mid-Atlantic All-Region third team by members of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Wise is the first Billiken freshman to be named to an NFCA All-Region team. Her selection extends Saint Louis’ streak of placing at least one player on the All-Region squad to five years.

Earlier this month, Wise became the first SLU softball student-athlete to earn Atlantic 10 first-team All-Conference accolades. She was a top-25 finalist for the NFCA Freshman of the Year Award and a four-time A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Wise concluded the season ranked among the A-10 leaders in 11 categories. She was second in total bases (school-record 119), tied for second in home runs (school-record 16) and extra-base hits (28), and tied for third in RBIs (47).

In addition, Wise was fourth in the league in slugging percentage (SLU freshman-record .700), tied for fifth in runs (SLU freshman-record 39), sixth in walks (26), tied for sixth in hits (SLU freshman-record 59), sixth in on-base percentage (.437), 10th in batting average (.347) and tied for 11th in doubles (12).

Wise led the Billikens in all of the above-mentioned categories except doubles. She also had team bests in multi-RBI games (13), longest hitting streak (11 games), two-out RBIs (14) and batting average with two outs (.412).
