ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University head women’s soccer coach Katie Shields has announced the Billikens’ 2018 schedule. The 19-game slate features 10 home matches as well as three road contests against Power 5 conference opponents.

“We’re looking forward to our 2018 schedule,” Shields said. “The nonconference schedule is well-balanced, featuring teams from seven conferences with different styles of play and diverse personnel. It will help us prepare for Atlantic 10 Conference play and position us to be in the NCAA tournament in November.”

Saint Louis welcomes A-10 rivals Davidson, Rhode Island, Duquesne, Fordham and George Washington to Robert R. Hermann Stadium. Arkansas State, SIUE, Oral Roberts, 2017 NCAA Championship qualifier Missouri State and Evansville comprise the nonconference home slate.

The Billikens visit the state of Kansas twice to take on Big 12 Conference foes Kansas State and Kansas. Also on the schedule is a trip to Nashville for a meeting with Southeastern Conference opponent Vanderbilt. The Commodores, who fell 3-0 to the Billikens at Hermann Stadium last August, upset Ohio State in the 2017 NCAA Championship first round after tying for fourth in the SEC regular-season standings and reaching the SEC Tournament semifinals.

Other notable road opponents are 2017 Western Athletic Conference regular-season champion Kansas City and A-10 archrival Dayton.

Once again, the top eight teams in the Atlantic 10 advance to the A-10 Championship to compete for the league’s automatic NCAA Championship bid. First-round games will be played Oct. 27 or 28 on the home fields of the top four seeds with winners advancing to Dayton, Ohio, where Dayton will host the semifinals (Nov. 2) and final (Nov. 4).

Saint Louis produced a 15-3-2 overall record and finished second in the A-10 with a 7-2-1 league mark in 2017. The Billikens return players who scored 41 of the team’s 42 goals a year ago.
