ST. LOUIS -- The 2017-18 Saint Louis University men’s and women’s tennis teams have been named All-Academic by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, while eight Billiken student-athletes (five men, three women) earned ITA Scholar-Athlete plaudits.
This is the eighth consecutive year the SLU women’s team has collected the ITA All-Academic award. The SLU men’s program has earned All-Academic laurels in each of the past six years.
The Billiken men achieved a 3.41 grade point average during the 2017-18 academic year, easily surpassing the minimum 3.2 required for the ITA All-Academic award. The Billiken women posted a 3.26 GPA.
David Ferragut, John Nogalski, Justin Nogalski, Charlie Parry and Kenji Yanaba from the men’s team, and Cassie McKenzie, Mariluz Rojo and Alba Salinas from the women’s team collected ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades, awarded to letter winners who registered at least a 3.5 GPA for the entire academic year. Parry concluded his career as a four-time honoree.
