DAYTON, Ohio – Saint Louis women’s tennis split a pair of matches against Atlantic 10 Conference opponents over the weekend, edging Dayton 4-3 and falling to Duquesne 5-2.


Mika Misgav went 2-0 in singles to lead the Billikens.


In the Dayton match, Misgav and Alba Salinas defeated Zoe Woods and Kristina Benjamin 6-4 at No. 3 doubles, but the Flyers won at Nos. 1 and 2 to claim the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.


SLU won three of the first five completed singles matches to forge a 3-3 tie. Cassie McKenzie topped Mattea Kilstofte 6-3, 1-0 (retired) at No. 1, Ariana Rodriguez beat Kelly Pleiman 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3, and Misgav got past Woods 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4.


The Billikens won the match when Salinas came from behind to edge Natalie Allen 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 at No. 5.


Saint Louis winners against Duquesne were Ally McKenzie, 6-3, 6-2 over Laurel Shymansky at No. 2 singles, and Misgav, 7-6, 6-1 over Aishwarya Kona at No. 3 singles.
