The Billikens improved to 6-13 overall and 1-4 in the A-10, while Butler fell to 11-8, 1-4.

Church collected a season-high 13 kills to go with 12 digs and a season-high four blocks. Lauren Baumet tallied 12 kills, while Carly Marcum registered 11 kills and a .308 attack percentage (11-3-26).

Grace Bonoma led the Bills with 20 digs, followed by Lindsey Dinkelacker with 13 and Cassie Clarke with 10. Clarke added 45 assists and two service aces.

Set one saw Saint Louis race to a 12-6 lead and hold off a late Butler charge. The Bulldogs drew to within two points on four occasions before the Billikens claimed the set.

Butler was in front throughout the second set and built a 22-15 cushion. SLU used a 6-1 run to narrow the gap to 23-21, but the visitors scored the final two points to even the match.

The Billikens overcame a 10-6 deficit in set three to grab a 12-11 lead. Nine ties and six lead changes ensued before Saint Louis recorded four of the final five points to win the set.

SLU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in set four, only to see Butler battle back to earn a 5-5 tie. The Billikens regained control with three straight points, however, and held the upper hand the rest of the set. The Bulldogs pulled to within a point three times but could not manage to tie or take the lead.

The Billikens are back in action Friday, Oct. 12, at VCU. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (CT).
