PHILADELPHIA - Saint Louis junior midfielder Alex Sweetin scored in the 71st minute to lift the No. 16 Billikens to a 1-0 Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer victory at Saint Joseph's Friday.

The win, a season-high fourth in a row for the Billikens, improves their record to 10-3 overall and 4-1 in the A-10. Saint Joseph's dips to 5-9 overall and 1-4 in the league.

Sweetin's game winner came at the 70:06 mark. He settled a pass from Kingsley Bryce, and Sweetin fired a ball that went through the keeper's gloves for the game's only score. It was Sweetin's fourth goal of the season, which ranks second on the squad. The assist gives Bryce eight points (3G, 2A) on the year to rank third.

SLU junior keeper Nick Shackelford made two saves for the shutout, his fifth of the season.

Saint Louis out-cornered the Hawks 10-1 in the contest. Sweetin fired a game-high four shots, including two on frame.

The Billikens, ranked No. 16 by Soccer America and No. 23 by the NSCAA, remain in Philadelphia to face Temple Sunday. Game time is scheduled for noon (CT).
