COLUMBIA, MO - The Saint Louis swimming and diving teams fared well in the 2012 Mizzou Invitational. The men's team placed sixth in the seven team field, while the women's team finished seventh in a nine team field.
The top performer for the women was sophomore Morgan Peterson. Peterson had the highest finish of any Billiken swimmer, finishing eighth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.72, a new top time for SLU this season. She also finished 11th in the 400-yard individual medley, touching the wall at 4:27.84.
On the men's side, sophomore Patrick May was the top scorer. He finished 12th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 50.22, a new best for 2012. He also competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:23.79, ninth), 400-yard medley relay (3:27.47, 10th), 200-yard medley relay (1:32.06, seventh) and 800-yard freestyle relay (7:08.45, 12th) helping each foursome score points for the Bills.
Next up for Saint Louis is a double dual against Western Illinois and IUPUI on Jan. 12 in Indianapolis, Ind.
