ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis incoming freshmen Kennedy Cordia (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell) and Maya Taylor (Idaho Falls, Idaho/Idaho Falls) have been named Prep Volleyball High School All Americans. Taylor earned high honorable mention plaudits, while Cordia was a special mention honoree.

"We are excited that our incoming Billikens received these high honors,” Saint Louis head volleyball coach Kent Miller said. “Kennedy and Maya are not only great competitors, but also are quality individuals that will help our program continue to grow both on and off the court. We look forward to having the opportunity to coach them this fall."

Cordia is a local product from nationally-ranked Francis Howell, and was recently named a finalist for the Andi Collins Award. This season, she recorded 969 assists in 86 sets (11.27 per set) and 56 aces (.65 per set) to lead the Vikings in both categories. Cordia broke school single-season records in aces, assists and assists per set this year, en route to All-Conference, All-District, All-Region and All-State accolades. 

Taylor was the 2015 Idaho Volleyball Gatorade Player of the Year. She is a four-time All-State performer and two-time Idaho Post Register All-Area Player of the Year. In her senior season, Taylor posted 550 kills, 54 aces, 68 blocks, 41 assists and 366 digs.

The Billikens open their exhibition season on March 3 with a match at SIUE beginning at 6 p.m. Saint Louis will host two spring tournaments, the first on April 1 beginning at 10 a.m. and the second on April 24 beginning at 6 p.m.
