SLU FACES UMKC, MISSOURI STATE, SEMO AT WE BACK PAT TOURNAMENT

•Saint Louis softball (6-4) travels to Kansas City this weekend for the We Back Pat Tournament.

•The Billikens play UMKC (1 p.m.) and Missouri State (5 p.m.) Saturday, March 4. On Sunday, Saint Louis battles Southeast Missouri State (11 a.m.).

•The tournament consolation game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, followed by the championship game at 3 p.m.

•Saint Louis enters the We Back Pat Tournament with a three-game winning streak.

•The Billikens carry a .316 team batting average. Alyssa Tarquinio leads the team at .484, followed by Mackenzie Peter (.455) and Allie Macfarlane (.406).

•Tarquinio and Peter are tied for the team lead in hits (15).

•Peter owns the team lead in home runs (four) and RBIs (14). Macfarlane and Tarquinio have nine and eight RBIs, respectively.

•SLU already has six triples, equaling last season's 51-game total. Alex Nickel has three and Peter has two.

Emma Buckles has a team-high three doubles, while seven other Billikens have two apiece.

Kaylea Chappelle leads the pitching staff with a 2-0 record and 1.98 ERA. Maddie Baalman and Kallen Loveless have two victories apiece.

WE BACK PAT TOURNAMENT OPPONENTS

UMKC – A four-game losing streak has dropped the Kangaroos to 4-10 ... went 24-26 overall and 10-5 (tied for second) in the Western Athletic Conference in 2016.

Missouri State – Won its last two games at the Texas A&M Invitational two weeks ago to even its record at 5-5 ... posted a 22-30 overall record and a 10-14 mark (tied for seventh) in the Missouri Valley Conference a year ago.

Southeast Missouri State – The Redhawks have won five in a row and come in with an 8-2 record ... went 16-33 overall and 10-17 (10th place) in the Ohio Valley Conference last season.
