BUFFALO, N.Y. - Saint Louis Swimming and Diving set five new school records in the second day of the A-10 Championship. That brings their total tally to 14 new records in a mere two days of competition.

Day two started with the 500-yard freestyle, where freshman Justin Pasquesi excelled. Pasquesi touched in at 4:36.83 finishing 12th, but setting a SLU record in the process. He had broken the record in prelims, but topped his prelim time by two seconds.

Next up was the 200-yard individual medley, where junior Taylor Streid has had success all season. In the event, she touched the wall at 2:04.00, finishing in fourth and besting her own school record. For the men, freshman Patrick MacArt won the consolation finals with a record-setting time of 1:51.84.

In the 50-yard freestyle, freshman Zack Billingsley touched at 20.73, finishing fifth. He was one of only three Billikens to score in the championship heat on day two.

The third Bill to score big points was sophomore diver Christiana Eltiste, who scored 195.00 on the one-meter board to finish eighth.

The second day ended with the 200-yard freestyle relay. Although the women's team was disqualified for an early start, freshman Jalynn Gieseke broke the school record in the 50-yard freestyle split with a split time of 23.65.

The highlight of the day was the men's 200-yard freestyle relay. The quad of Billingsley, freshman Patrick May, MacArt and junior Will Butzke set the new SLU standard with a time of 1:21.94. This time was also good enough for second place, the highest finish Saint Louis has had in the event at the A-10 Championship.

After 14 events, the men's team is in fifth place, and only 17 points out of fourth. The women's team is tenth. Competition resumes tomorrow with prelims beginning at 9:30 a.m. CT and the scoring heats at 5:30 p.m. CT.
