BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Billikens continued to rewrite the record books at the A-10 Swimming and Diving Championship. Numerous great swims have placed the men's team in sixth place, while the women are tenth.

Taylor Streid got things started with a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a new SLU record of 55.52. For the men, junior Will Butzke touched the wall at 50.68, setting a Billiken record in the event, but was disqualified for a false start. He later time trialed the event, coming in at an even better 50.00 to lock up the SLU standard.

Pat MacArt broke the Saint Louis 200-yard freestyle record with a 1:40.89, finishing ninth.

The surprise of the meet came from freshman Stephen Hansen. Hansen placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke, beating teammate Brian Brasser, and his school record with a time of 56.39. Hansen and Stried are tied for the highest individual finishes for SLU so far this meet.

On the three-meter board, the senior duo of Billy Hrabovsky (295.10) and Chad Carmichael (294.50) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Both the women and men broke the 400-yard medley relay records. The women finished ninth with a time of 3:52.18 and the men were fifth at 3:22.65. New record splits were Lizzy Osterman in the 100-yard freestyle with a 51.88, Stephen Hansen in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 55.76 and Will Butzke in the 100-yard butterfly with a 50.01.

The Bills will wrap up the 2012 Championship tomorrow at 5:30 CT.
