Alemann Earns Second Consecutive Pitcher of the Week Award

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - For the second consecutive week, Saint Louis junior RHP Alex Alemann has been tabbed the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the week.

Alemann defended his title with flair, hurling his second-straight shutout. Against North Dakota, he went seven strong innings of shutout baseball. Alemann fanned eight while allowing four hits, his only base-runners of the game.This outing extended Alemann’s scoreless streak to 23 innings.

This season, Alemann has been one of the top pitchers in the A-10. The tall righty leads the league in ERA (0.31), wins (3) and innings pitched (29.1). He is also third in strikeouts (27), second in opposing batting average (.129) and third in walks allowed (4).

Alemann and the Billikens return to action tomorrow, Mar. 13 at 3:00 p.m. when they take on the Huskies of Northern Illinois at the Billiken Sports Center.
