Billikens Host UIC, Aim For .500 Mark

BILLIKENS LOOKING TO EVEN RECORD - Coming off its second consecutive road victory, Saint Louis women's basketball (3-4) seeks to reach the .500 mark when the Billikens take on Illinois-Chicago (1-4) Monday, Dec. 3, at Chaifetz Arena. The game tips at 7 p.m. SLU downed Valparaiso 53-47 Dec. 1, while UIC suffered a 67-52 loss at Southeast Missouri State the same day.

LAST TIME OUT - Courtney Webb and Lorreal Jones scored a game-high 15 points apiece, and Mallory Eggert registered a second consecutive double-double to lead Saint Louis to a 53-47 victory at Valparaiso Dec. 1. Eggert tallied 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, matching the team's season high. Jacy Bradley posted a career- and game-high eight assists, and Desirae Ball notched a career- and game-high five steals. Saint Louis was out-rebounded (38-33) for just the second time this season, but the Billikens offset that by committing a season-low 11 turnovers. The Bills forced 16 Valparaiso miscues and earned a 21-7 advantage in points off turnovers. In addition, SLU outscored Valpo 11-2 from the free-throw line and 24-12 in the paint.

ABOUT THE BILLIKENS - Lorreal Jones leads Saint Louis in scoring (11.4 ppg), rebounding (7.7 rpg) and offensive rebounding (3.3 orpg). Courtney Webb checks in with 11.0 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game and a team-high 12 3-pointers. Mallory Eggert is third in scoring (10.4 ppg), second in rebounding (7.0 rpg) and first in steals (1.7 spg) while shooting a team-high 52.7 percent from the floor. Desirae Ball owns a 7.1 scoring mark, and Jacy Bradley averages 5.6 points and 4.1 rebounds while leading the squad in assists (5.1 apg). The Bills are +7.6 in rebounding margin, are shooting 40 percent from the field and 73.5 percent from the free-throw line, and are allowing 53.1 points per game.

SCOUTING UIC - Two Flames carry double-figure scoring averages, led by Rachel Story's 20.8 points per game. Story also leads UIC with 3.6 assists per game and grabs 5.0 rebounds per game. Katie Hannemann averages 12.8 points and a team-high 8.2 rebounds, including 4.6 offensive boards per game, and is shooting 52.2 percent from the field. Emily Kobel owns an 8.2 scoring average, Taylor Foulks averages 7.8 points and 4.6 rebounds, and Heidi Dahnke pulls down 7.0 rebounds per contest (3.6 offensive). UIC averages 61.2 points while allowing an average of 69.8 points. The Flames are minus-3.0 in rebounding margin but have been strong on the offensive glass, pulling down nearly 16 offensive caroms per game.

THE SLU-UIC SERIES - A 68-60 victory in Chicago last season allowed UIC to even the all-time series 2-2. Courtney Webb and Mallory Eggert led Saint Louis with 20 points and eight rebounds, respectively.
