2013 - 2014 SPRING CHEER & DANCE TRYOUT  

WHEN
Friday, April 12th 7:00pm to 9:30pm
~Registration begins at 6:00pm

Saturday, April 13th 9:30am to 1:00pm

Chaifetz Pavillion
Enter through VIP entrance

WHAT TO BRING
To participate, the following paperwork must be submitted during registration:

• Student Athlete Health Questionnaire
• Student/Family Information Sheet
• Acknowledgment of Insurance (must be signed by parent or legal guardian)
• Copy of Health Insurance Card (front & back)
• Current physical or note from physician clearing individual to tryout (within one year of tryout date; MUST state participant is cleared for physical activity/athletic participation)
• Proof of acceptance or attendance at Saint Louis University

Failure to produce any of the required paperwork will result in dismissal from tryouts. NO EXCEPTIONS.

ATTIRE
Cheer
Black bike/spandex short
Sports bra (color of your choice)
White cheer shoes
Hair in half ponytail w/ ribbon
Game day makeup

Dance
Black bike/spandex short
Crop top or sports bra (color of your choice)
Neutral or flesh colored tights/pantyhose
Neutral or black jazz shoes or dance sneaker
Hair down (gameday style: no ponytails or buns)
Game day makeup

REQUIREMENTS
Cheer

• Jumps (Toe Touch, Hurdler, High Kick)
• Tumbling (Standing Back Handspring, Round-off Back Handspring
• Stunts (Variation of One-footed Stunts)

Dance

• Double or Triple pirouette 
• Right, left, and center leaps
• Right and left splits
• Toe touch
• Physical fitness
• Poise and personality
• Tumbling is not required for the dance team, but if you would like to showcase any acrobatic skills, you may.
• Participants must prepare a 30 second dance routine of original choreography to music (bring music on CD). Please choose whatever style fits you best.

All participants will be interviewed as part of the audition process.
