ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis volleyball signee Taylor Paulson (Louisville, Ky./Assumption) has been named a first-team All-American by MaxPreps.com. Earlier this season, she also earned Miss Kentucky accolades as the top prep volleyball player in the state of Kentucky. As a senior, Paulson recorded 270 kills (55.4 percent) and 64 blocks in leading Assumption to a 38-2 record and back-to-back state titles. Assumption finished the 2012 season ranked fifth in the MaxPreps national rankings.
"We are very excited about Taylor making the All-American team, especially the first team," Saint Louis head coach Kent Miller said. "She is an excellent competitor and an even better person."
Paulson is part of a highly-touted incoming freshman class for the Billikens. In addition to Paulson, Mal Dillon and Danielle Rygelski will join the Billikens in 2013. Dillon is an All-Conference and All-District honoree and was named to Prep Volleyball's Sophomore 79. Rygelski is a 2012 Under Armour All-American and has earned All-Region accolades three times in her career.
"We are very excited about our incoming class," Miller said. "They have had great prep careers and we expect to see continued success with the Billikens."
