ST. LOUIS – The Saint Louis baseball team had an exceptional offensive performance in Dayton, defeating the Flyers 14-4. The Billikens amassed 17 hits in the contest, the second-most this season and only five hits away from the school mark set in 2000. Senior Alex Alemann gets the win to rise to 4-1. He threw six innings with six strikeouts and two walks. The win gives SLU a 14-9 record on the year and a 1-0 record in conference play.

In the contest, every Billiken starter collected at least one hit and five Billikens had two or more. Senior Jordan Hammerman went three-for-four with three RBIs, two doubles, a walk and a run scored. Freshman Braxton Martinez also performed well, going three-for-four with a home run (his third of the year), two RBIs, two runs and a walk. Senior Grant Nelson added a home run of his own in the contest, his second of the season.

The Flyers and Bills will meet up again tomorrow, March 23 in a double-header to wrap up the series. Game one is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. CT. Sophomore RHP Nick Bates will take the hill for SLU in the first game and junior RHP Clay Smith will start game three for the Billikens.
