ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head men’s basketball coach Jim Crews announced today that 6-foot-8 forward Reggie Agbeko has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University and play for the Billikens. Agbeko begins his four years of eligibility in the 2013-14 academic year.

“We are excited to welcome Reggie into the Billiken program,” Crews said. “We really like Reggie’s ability to score on the block and he is an outstanding rebounder. He has a very high ceiling as he has played only three years of organized basketball in the United States. Billiken fans are going to love watching him play because of his competitiveness. He is very skilled for a big man.”

A native of Ghana, Agbeko (pronounced ‘AG-beck-o’) moved to Buffalo, N.Y., in 2010. He landed at St. Joseph’s College Institute and averaged a double-double over two seasons with the Marauders. Last year, he played at South Kent School, a prep school in Connecticut and members of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council, one of the premier prep leagues in the country. Agbeko earned second-team All-NEPSAC honors while at South Kent.

Agbeko joins 6-foot-5 guard/forward Mike Crawford (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) as new members of next year’s squad.

The current NLI signing period runs through May 15, 2013.
