Tim Kelly began his third stint as the Billikens' goalkeepers coach in August 2013.

A highly respected keepers coach not just in the St. Louis area but nationally, Kelly served the Billikens from 2005-06, then again in 2009.

During his first stint at SLU as a part-time coach, Kelly guided veteran keeper Jeff Sackman to nine victories and a 1.27 GAA in 2005. In 2006, he mentored freshman Ross Kaufman, who posted a 12-3-1 record and a 0.81 GAA, as SLU advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Kelly returned to the Billiken staff in 2009 as SLU’s first full-time goalkeepers coach. That year, Kaufman posted a 1.17 GAA as the Billikens won the Atlantic 10 Conference title and again advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. The Billikens’ current goalkeeper, senior Sascha Otte, ranks among the NCAAA’s active leaders in career shutouts.

Kelly currently serves as the director of goalkeepers for St. Louis Scott Gallagher Soccer Club. Additionally, Kelly was as an assistant for the St. Louis Athletica women’s professional team in 2009-10, with whom he coached U.S. National Team goalkeeper Hope Solo. He has also worked with keepers Dominic Cervi, Joe Willis and numerous other NCAA Division I student-athletes.

A native of St. Louis, Kelly played professionally for the Kansas City Wizards (MLS) in 1997 and the Arizona Sahuaros (USL) in 1998.
