ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis men’s and women’s basketball will hold #BillikenMadness on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Chaifetz Arena. Doors open at 5 p.m. Basketball activities get under way at 6 p.m. and will last until approximately 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Starting at 5 p.m., the department of athletics will hold a sale in the concourse, consisting of used Billiken gear, past promotional items, game programs, media guides and much more. The sale will be set up in the concourse behind section 121, along the glass wall overlooking the practice court.

Beginning at approximately 6 p.m., both Billiken teams will be introduced. The band and Saintsations will perform, followed by a 10-minute women’s scrimmage. The men’s team also will hold a 10-minute scrimmage.

Between the scrimmages, a shooting contest will be held between men’s and women’s players, along with randomly selected SLU students in attendance. The students will be shooting for a chance to earn free textbooks for the spring 2014 semester.

Women’s head coach Lisa Stone and men’s head coach Jim Crews will address the crowd. Afterward, fans are invited on the court for a meet-and-greet with the players and an opportunity for autographs.

Free concessions, consisting of hot dogs, popcorn and soft drinks, will be available. Complimentary parking is available in the Fred Weber VIP Lot. Overflow parking is available in the Olive-Compton Garage for a fee.
