Balachandran, a senior business administration major with a concentration in international business, was awarded the scholarship in recognition of his academic and extracurricular achievements. The presentation was made by Cyndi Donato, vice president and chief people officer at Novus International.
A four-year member of the Billiken tennis squad, Balachandran earned a place on the Atlantic 10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll (minimum 3.5 semester grade point average) in five of his first six semesters. He is a member of the SLU honors society and the international business honor society Alpha Kappa Epsilon.
In addition to the Novus scholarship, Balachandran has earned a Missouri Senate academic excellence award; a George Washington Carver award presented by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon; an outstanding academic excellence award presented by the president’s education program; distinction as a Scholar with Honor presented by the College Board; and a SLU vice president’s scholarship.The John Cook School of Business is AACSB-accredited with its undergraduate and graduate international business programs ranked in the top 20 by U.S. News and World Report.
