ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head field hockey coach Danielle Baumgardner has announced two camps to be held at Sportport International. On March 11, the Billikens host the Elite Clinic aimed at student-athletes in grades 9-12. On April 23, SLU hosts the Spring Clinic, which is designed for girls aged 12 and above. Saint Louis field hockey camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.

The Elite Clinic on March 11 is geared toward educating and preparing student-athletes for the college experience. Training will include technical and tactical sessions, as well as small-sided games. The goal of the clinic is to introduce athletes to higher-level skill and thinking. Participants will be given an opportunity to ask camp counselors general questions about college athletics.

The Spring Clinic is built on the elements of fun, technique, tactics and a low player-to-coach ratio. Technique and skill development will be appropriate to age and skill level of the camper. Participants will receive instruction from a variety of coaches and will get many touches on the ball. Small-sided game tactics will be introduced and emphasized by using scrimmages and other match situations. The goal for this clinic is to provide athletes with individual skill instruction and feedback that they can apply to their roles on their various teams.
