•Sadie Stipanovich and Jackie Kemph posted game highs in rebounds and assists, respectively, but Saint Louis fell 71-53 to Indiana Sunday afternoon in a second-round game of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament at Assembly Hall.
•The Billikens conclude the season with a 25-9 record.
•Kemph scored a team-high 11 points and led all players with six assists. Stipanovich had 10 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
•Indiana (22-10) advances to play the SMU-Abilene Christian winner in the third round.
HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Billikens enjoyed a strong beginning, shooting 53 percent from the field and leading by five points on two occasions. SLU was on top 18-15 after one quarter.
•Indiana hit 3-pointers on consecutive possessions early in the second quarter to go ahead for good. The Hoosiers built their lead to 40-22 at intermission.
•Saint Louis trimmed the margin to 13 on five occasions in the third quarter, but Indiana regained an 18-point advantage, 59-41, at the end of three. The Billikens would draw no closer the rest of the way.
•Kemph was 5-of-10 from the field and added five rebounds.
•Stipanovich concluded her career with a school-record 1,585 points. During Sunday’s game, she moved into sole possession of second place on the Billikens’ career rebounds list and finished with 890 boards.
•Olivia Jakubicek tallied nine points (4-of-6 FG) and four rebounds. Jakubicek finished her career with 671 rebounds, good for eighth place on SLU’s career list.
•Kerri McMahan tallied eight points on 4-of-4 shooting.
•Paige Rakers buried a pair of 3-pointers for a season-high six points.
•Jenny Vliet and Jordyn Frantz pulled down six and five rebounds, respectively.
