ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head women's basketball coach Lisa Stone has announced that former Valparaiso University 6-foot-4 center Amber Lindfors (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove H.S.) has joined the Billikens' program.

Lindfors, who recently completed her sophomore season at Valparaiso, will sit out the 2017-18 campaign due to NCAA transfer regulations and have two seasons of eligibility remaining beginning in the fall of 2018.

Lindfors started 57 of the 58 games she played for the Crusaders. She posted career averages of 5.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.4 blocks while shooting 48.4 percent from the field.

Lindfors led the Horizon League in blocks in each of her two seasons at Valpo, swatting 71 shots as a freshman and 70 as a sophomore. She was selected to the league's All-Defensive team, averaged 7.8 points and 7.5 rebounds, and led the Crusaders in field goal percentage (47.7 percent) as a sophomore.

“We're very pleased to welcome Amber to our program,” Stone said. “She will give us a strong presence in the low post as a big-time shot blocker and capable rebounder. As a transfer, she'll have a year to learn our system and then be ready to make a significant contribution for two seasons. We're happy Amber is a member of the Billiken family.”

At Elk Grove High School, Lindfors earned a No. 194 national ranking from the Dan Olson Collegiate Girls Basketball Report. She also was ranked the No. 30 player in the Chicago area by the Bret McCormick All Star Girls Report.
