ST. LOUIS – Senior Hiob Gebisso and sophomore Brett Kowalczyk were named to the Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic team, the league announced today.

It is the third time Gebisso has been honored by the A-10, having earned the nod last year during the outdoor season and earlier this year during indoor. It is Kowalczyk's first A-10 academic honor of his career.

Gebisso, from Augsburg, Germany, is a computer science and mathematics major and maintains a GPA above 3.8. He was the runner-up in the 1,500 meters at the A-10 Championships, and also ran a leg on the Billikens' 4x1600-meter relay that registered a school record at the Drake Relays.

Kowalczyk, a neuroscience major from Peru, Illinois, has above a 3.85 GPA. He finished sixth in the hammer throw, 12th in the discus and 13th in the shot put at the A-10 Championships. Kowalczyk registered PRs in all three events during the outdoor season.

Gebisso and Kowalczyk were part of Billikens' men's team that broke the school record in points at the A-10 Championship. SLU finished fourth in the meet, its best ever finish.
