ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University head women's soccer coach Katie Shields has announced the Billikens' 2017 schedule. The 19-game slate includes nine home contests and features opponents who combined for four NCAA Championship appearances and five conference titles a season ago.

Saint Louis welcomes 2016 NCAA qualifiers Illinois State, Kansas and Dayton to Robert R. Hermann Stadium. Illinois State (Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and tournament champion) and Kansas (Big 12 Conference regular-season runner-up) reached the second round of the national tournament. Dayton earned an NCAA bid by winning the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament title.

SLU also hosts Southeastern Conference foe Vanderbilt and Miami (Ohio) in nonconference play. Joining Dayton on the Billikens' A-10 home schedule are 2016 regular-season champion Saint Joseph's, St. Bonaventure, Richmond and Massachusetts.

The Billikens make the short trip to Edwardsville, Illinois, for a match with SIUE. The Cougars advanced on penalty kicks over 11th-ranked Notre Dame in last year's NCAA first round after claiming the Ohio Valley Conference tournament crown. SLU's road opponents also include A-10 Championship qualifiers Duquesne, Fordham, George Washington and Rhode Island; Ohio Valley Conference regular-season co-champion Murray State; and Missouri Valley Conference tournament runner-up Evansville.

Once again, the top eight teams in the Atlantic 10 advance to the A-10 Championship to compete for the league's automatic NCAA Championship bid. First-round games will be played on the home fields of the top four seeds, with winners advancing to Richmond, Virginia, where VCU will host the semifinals and final.
