ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis volleyball will host its annual Alumni Day on Aug. 19. The Billikens will host a free community youth clinic, the Megan Boken Alumni Match and a preseason fundraiser.

The day begins with the Billikens hosting a free youth volleyball clinic from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The clinic is offered to athletes in grades 4-8 and will be conducted by current and former Saint Louis volleyball players. The clinic is free of charge, but the volleyball program will accept donations on behalf of the Megan Boken Fund. Registration for the event is available here. The clinic will be capped to the first 80 registrants. Lunch will be provided for all campers after the clinic.

Following the clinic, the Saint Louis volleyball team will host the Megan Boken Alumni Match at 2 p.m. in Chaifetz Pavilion. The match will feature the current Billiken volleyball team taking on a team composed of Billiken alumni. Admission for the match is $5. Children 12 and younger receive free admission. Proceeds from the alumni match benefit the Megan Boken Fund.

Megan Boken passed away on Aug. 18, 2012. She played for the Billikens from 2007-10 and concluded her career ranked fourth in matches played (127), fifth in digs (1,212), 14th in points (1,143.5) and 14th in service aces (102) on SLU's all-time lists. Boken was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference second team and the A-10 Championship All-Tournament team as a junior in 2009, and she was All-Conference honorable mention in her senior season.

To wrap up the festivities, the volleyball team will host a preseason fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. at the Moto Museum (3441 Olive St.). Alumni, friends and fans are invited to the event to preview the upcoming 2017 season with the Billikens. Tables of eight are $200, and space is limited. Appetizers will be provided, and drinks are available for purchase. To RSVP for the fundraiser, contact Maureen Nesbit at
