ST. LOUIS – The 2016-17 Saint Louis University women’s and men’s tennis teams have been named All-Academic by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, while eight Billiken student-athletes (four from each team) earned ITA Scholar-Athlete plaudits.

This is the seventh consecutive year the SLU women’s team has collected the ITA All-Academic award. The SLU men’s program has earned All-Academic laurels in each of the past five years.

The Billiken women achieved a 3.52 grade point average during the 2016-17 academic year, easily surpassing the minimum 3.2 required for the ITA All-Academic award. The Billiken men were close behind with a 3.51 GPA.

Aspen Cervin, Mariluz Rojo, Eleonore Tchakarova and Verginie Tchakarova from the women’s team, and Juan Calero, Paarth Dodhiawala, Justin Nogalski and Charlie Parry from the men’s team collected ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades, awarded to letter winners who registered at least a 3.5 GPA for the entire academic year. Cervin concluded her career as a four-time honoree.
