No. 2 Wake Forest scored three times in the second half and upended Saint Louis 4-1 Saturday night in nonconference men’s soccer action at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.
It was the third match in a row for the Billikens (0-3) against a ranked opponent. Wake Forest, the NCAA finalist a season ago, improved to 3-0 with the win.
The Demon Deacons led 1-0 at halftime, then scored twice in the first 16 minutes of the second half to take command.
SLU’s Lennart Hein scored off a Leo Novaes corner kick in the 77th minute to cut the Billiken deficit to 3-1, but Wake Forest tacked on another goal several minutes later for the 4-1 final.
