-- Saint Louis hosts UMass at Robert R. Hermann Stadium Saturday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The match serves as the Atlantic 10 Conference opener for both teams.

-- Saint Louis leads the all-time series against UMass 5-4-2. The teams last met in 2015, a scoreless draw in Amherst, Mass.

-- The Billikens are in their 13th season as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference.

-- Since 2005, SLU men’s soccer has claimed at least a share of the A-10 regular-season title five times.

-- The Billikens won the A-10 Championship in 2012 and 2009. SLU was the runner-up in 2013, 2006 and 2005.

-- Saint Louis (2-4-1) is coming off a 3-1 loss against Denver Tuesday night. That defeat snapped the Billikens’ three-game unbeaten streak.

-- The Billikens defeated No. 5 Stanford last Saturday in front of more than 3,000 fans for Homecoming. Sophomore Leo Novaes and redshirt freshman Spencer Jones scored second-half goals for the Billikens.

-- Three Billikens were honored for their play in the Stanford game. Novaes was named the Atlantic 10 Conference’s Player of the Week, while Jones was tabbed the A-10’s co-Rookie of the Week. Junior Lennart Hein was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.

-- Hein leads the team with three goals. Junior Jacob Krupp, Novaes and Jones follow with three points (1G, 1A) apiece.

-- Hein scored the Billikens’ game-winning goal in a 1-0 triumph at Marquette. Krupp scored in the Billikens’ 2-1 overtime loss in the season opener against Syracuse. It was his first goal in a Billiken uniform. Krupp transferred to SLU after spending his freshman year at Memphis and his sophomore season at Jefferson College.

-- Freshman Patrick Wilkinson played a full 90 minutes at Marquette and received the Atlantic 10 Conference men’s soccer Rookie of the Week award for his effort in the shutout victory.

-- Twenty-two Billikens have seen playing time at some point in the first seven games, including nine student-athletes who appeared for the Bills for the first time in their careers.

-- Senior goalkeeper Sascha Otte has 26 saves on the season. He is tied for second nationally among active NCAA Division I goalkeepers with 23 career shutouts.

-- The Billikens finished 7-8-3 last season. SLU posted a 6-2 record in Atlantic 10 Conference play to win the A-10 regular-season title. Sophomore Saadiq Mohammed is SLU’s leading returning scorer after scoring three goals – all game-winners in conference play – a season ago.

-- Junior forward Anthony Brown is the Billikens’ career active leading scorer with 12 points (3G, 6A).

-- Head coach Mike McGinty is in his eighth season at Saint Louis. The reigning A-10 Coach of the Year has a 76-51-14 record at SLU.

-- Up next, Saint Louis begins a three-game road swing with a Wednesday, Oct. 4, matchup against Duquesne in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

-- UMass enters Saturday’s match with a 5-2-2 record. The Minutemen are unbeaten in their last three.

-- UMass’ defeats came at the hands of nationally ranked New Hampshire and the Ivy League’s defending champion, Dartmouth.

-- Last season, the Minutemen went 7-9-3 overall (4-2-2 in the A-10) and were eliminated by VCU in the first round of the A-10 Championship.
