ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis is the No. 2 seed for the 2017 Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer Championship and will host Saint Joseph’s in a quarterfinal game Saturday, Oct. 28. Game time at Robert R. Hermann Stadium is 7 p.m.
Saint Louis (15-2-2, 7-2-1 A-10) finished second to La Salle (14-3-2, 9-0-1) in the final A-10 regular-season standings. The Billikens defeated Saint Joseph’s (10-5-3, 5-3-2) 3-0 at Hermann Stadium Oct. 1, part of their 7-0-2 home record this season. SLU carries a school-record 19-game home undefeated streak, dating to the final game of the 2015 campaign, into Saturday’s quarterfinal contest.
Also on Saturday, La Salle meets No. 8 Dayton (9-8-2, 4-4-2) and No. 4 Duquesne (10-5-3, 6-3-1) takes on No. 5 George Washington (10-4-4, 5-2-3). No. 3 George Mason (9-8-2, 6-2-2) and No. 6 VCU (9-5-3, 5-3-2) play Sunday.
VCU (Richmond, Virginia) hosts the semifinals and championship game Friday and Sunday, Nov. 3 and 5. Should the Billikens defeat Saint Joseph’s, they will play the George Mason-VCU winner in the semifinals Nov. 3 at 3:30 p.m. (CT). SLU did not meet either team in the regular season.
The title game is scheduled for 11 a.m. (CT) Nov. 5, with the winner receiving the A-10’s automatic NCAA Championship bid.
